5 Things to do in Orange County

Although Disneyland is always a favorite destination, check out these 5 interesting locations:

1. Heisler Park – This beautiful, picturesque park offers a variety of sight-seeing opportunities as well as physical activities. The breath-taking views are often the backdrop for weddings. Trails and paths lead you through beautiful gardens and stunning ocean views. On the main
beach people can sunbathe or even play sand volleyball. The park is also known for its beautiful displays of public art.

2. Mission San Juan Capistrano – History abounds within the walls of this 1775 Spanish mission. It was built initially to expand the Spanish reach as well as to convert the Native Americans to Christianity. The Great Stone Church collapsed in 1812 because of an earthquake and contributed to its decline, including declining birthrates and increased mortality rates. Since then, a great deal of preservation work has been done on the mission and it inspires all who visit.

3. Huntington Beach Pier – For decades surfers and wind-surfers have enjoyed the perfect waves at this renowned beach. The area is open and free from dangerous rocks. This is also the location of the U.S. Open of Surfing. Often Huntington Beach is where amateur and high school contests take place. Great restaurants and shopping are nearby.

4. The Flight Deck Flight Simulation Center – Here fantasy becomes reality and although “simulation” is in the name, you feel as though everything you are experiencing is totally real. The whole experience is provided whether it’s doing aerial maneuvers at 600 knots or piloting a 737. The minimum age is 11, and the minimum height is 4’11”.

5. Irvine Spectrum Center – Really this is many destinations, not just one. There 120 restaurants and shops that cater to all preferences. A giant wheel, a carousel, and a kiddy train add to the fun atmosphere.
